100 years ago in Kiel the people built a big hall for a big market where the people dealed with fishes and other food. In 1910 it was opening and was a very important thing for this city.
But from time to time, the trade in the ,,Hall of Kiel" was very bad and after the second world war the people discussed about the using of the hall furthermore. After many discussions they decided to open the ,,Nautical Museum Kiel" inside. So the people opend the museum on 30. April 1978.
Today the nautical museum of Kiel is the most popular museum in the big city. It informates about the whole history of shipping in Kiel and many important boats, nautical belongings and features of the shipping. The interesting museum also exibiths a version about the oldest submarine on earth.
Near the museum you can visit the museum-bridge which displays oldtimer ships from 1905.
