The "Polish Maritime Museum's" goal is to protect nautical heritage by collecting historical objects and other staff connected with sailing, boatbuilding and fishing. The museum has absolutely unique collection of items.
Its mission is to maintain historic nautical sites and objects, also it continues to educate the public about the history of this area of Poland.
The museum specializes in underwater archeological research in Baltic Sea. The archeologist's team with skin-divers has been working on over 30 wreck sites till now.
Visiting the museum facility located on two opposite sides of the Motława river is facilitated by the ferryboat "Motława" departing from below the Żuraw.
