The Maritime Museum Rotterdam is the nautical and harbor museum of Rotterdam and, according to the their homepage, one of the worldwide "best" museum's related to ships.
Rotterdam was and is one of the biggest ports of the world, therefore it is not surprising that the local museum can offer not only half a million nautical objects, but also a rich and eventful history.
One of the highlights of the museum is the 19th century naval ship 'De Buffel' that served the Royal Dutch Navy for many years. Another "must see" is the Mataro ship model that dates back to the early 15th century and which is the oldest ship model in Western Europe.
