The Maritime Museum is a magical place that inspires all ages, landlubbers and old salts alike, where the young and young at heart thrill to our many exhibits and the adventures within our galleries.
It offers school programs for classes from preschool to high school. Its programs instil a sense of adventure and excitement about the maritime world and are designed for school children, the general public who visit it, and people who attend its workshops, interactive programs and lectures.
The mission of the museum is to explore and understand people's interaction with the sea. The Vancouver Maritime Museum has a collection of more than 170,000 objects including 35,000 artifacts, 20,000 books, 262 original paintings/artwork and 114,000 photographs.
