Julian Dixon's Polylingual Translating Dictionary and Glossary for Viking Ships and other ancient and historical Sailing Craft is a website existing of a dictionary and wordlist translating ancient nautical and maritime terms to and from English to various languages, dead and living. It is a reference work for researchers, etymologists and those who have an interest in traditional, historic and ancient sailing craft. The bias is on the Northern European languages so far, but those included are: Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Anglo Saxon, Middle English, Dutch, Old Dutch, Middle Dutch, French, Old French, German, Old High German, Icelandic, Latin, Portugese, Italian, Old Norse, Spanish, and it is hoped that it will be extended continually.
